IT Vision and Parago… The Story So Far

IT Vision has developed Parago, the first internet based IT Asset Discovery and Software Licensing solution for Education.

IT Vision established a requirement through initial conversations around IT Asset Management in schools. Many schools are holding information on their ICT and non ICT assets in a spreadsheet. This does not reflect an up to date status, particularly on installed software. Regular audits are unrealistic and not an efficient use of people's time. Asset management solutions available to commercial enterprise are either too complicated or expensive to justify.

Parago automatically collects data from all computers across multiple locations into one central source. This is a critical requirement for initiatives such as Laptops for Teachers and Computers for Pupils. This is because schools need to be aware of inappropriate software being installed on computers even when off site. Parago is able to report back these changes via the internet even when not connected to the school network.

Throughout the development phase education institutions and authorities were involved in a step-by-step basis creating a tailored solution for all asset management requirements. This unique relationship with our current and future clients continues today and is central to IT Vision’s success. To date, more schools are using Parago than any other automated asset management system.

In summer 2007 Parago had its 1000 school subscriber and extended its school user base outside the UK. The Ministry of Education in the Cayman Islands has subscribed to Parago for all their schools.

Our goal is to provide a solution that exceeds the expectations of all local authorities and schools. In particular addressing the issues and providing solutions for incentives raised by the DCSF and BECTA.
